Let Us Be is our flagship initiative that provides a one-time $500 gift to 3 - 5 Black Liberationist change-makers each month. We begin accepting applications on the third Monday of every month, and decisions are made the following week.
The March application will open here on March 15th.

Due to capacity, only the first 25 applications will be considered. We will not consider applications that are incomplete or incorrect.
Because we want to ensure the integrity of applications, we do not publicize our selection process. However, here are a few considerations and general principles we base decisions on
  • We define Black Liberation in ways that are affirming of Black hyper-marginalized communities including Black women, transgender and nonbinary people, youth, people with disabilities, and queer people.
  • Black Liberation aims to get Black people free from various oppressions; central to Black Liberation are Black people, and all Liberationist activities actively serve and mobilize our communities.
  • Activities involving law enforcement or education of non-Black people are not in line with our definition of Black Liberation. Applications in this vein will not be considered.
